Life in Year 2 is a fun an exciting new experience for our children, as well as a challenge. As they come to the end of their time in Key Stage 1, they are encouraged to become more independent thinkers and learners, in preparation for the next phase.
This includes the introduction of homework in English and Mathematics, as well as Spanish. It is an important routine to establish early on, as it is an essential part of school life.
As parents, we think you will amazed with the leaps and bounds that children make with their writing. They progress from more simple sentences to telling and writing whole stories!
Each child in Year 2 is assigned a Nessy account; a fun way to develop their spelling and reading skills. They access this weekly in the computer room, and are encouraged to practise this further at home. This also helps to build on their Computing skills that are essential for Key Stage 2.
The children enjoy a variety of trips, including a visit to the Fire Station, La Caldera and Loro Park, which they look forward to with great anticipation.
