Year 2 spent this term travelling around the world with Wally, stopping at each continent to look at the amazing treasures in each. We observed their habitants, different cultures, traditions and food, as well as famous man-made landmarks and stunning natural features.
We also focused on the different habitats that exist across the continents and the animals that abide in each. We saw which animals are native to each habitat and how they adapt to survive in them.
The rainforest
The class were very excited to choose their favourite habitat and, using their imagination and a variety of resources and artistic techniques, made them from shoe boxes.
The ocean habitat
The Polar habitat
Our last stop was at Antarctica and, as the festive season is very nearly upon us, we created a winter wonderland scene using our polar habitats, Antarctica inspired Christmas cards and 3d Christmas pine trees.
