Year 6 is the much-anticipated final year of primary, which begins with the excitement of receiving their own iPad. They enjoy a whole new learning experience which leads to many exciting and creative lessons. Along with the iPad, comes great responsibility, as they must follow instructions independently, be organised and take care of their own equipment. As they come home with the children every day; they can proudly share the day´s achievements with their family.
Every class is given the opportunity to vote for their Year 6 House Captains. Children who wish to be voted in, must write a speech and convince their peers to elect them. Once chosen, they have many responsibilities: organising worker of the week certificates, counting house points and playground points and announcing the winners each week in assembly.
The end of year is as exciting as the beginning with a residential camping trip to Lanzarote. They bond with their classmates, participating in many activities such as: canoeing, snorkeling and star-gazing as well as trips out to the beach, Timanfaya National Park and a local village.
It all makes for a memorable year, filled with challenges and successes, opportunities and excitement. It is a year that we make sure all our children enjoy and remember for years to come.
