At the British International School, we are committed to providing parents with valuable insights into their child’s learning journey. We offer several workshops designed to equip families with practical strategies to support their child’s development at home. 

Phonics for Phase 1 and 2:  

This workshop covers the fundamentals of phonics, giving you a clear understanding of the vocabulary and teaching methods we use at school. 

Maths for Phase 2 and Phase 3: 

We showcase the manipulatives and resources we use daily to help students grasp mathematical concepts within our curriculum. Our aim is to provide families with strategies to motivate children in maths. 

E-safety tips for Phase 3 and Secondary:   

This workshop aims to educate parents about the importance of E-safety both at home and in school. We will provide detailed explanations on how the school safeguards children from accessing inappropriate websites and apps, and how our safe search systems are implemented on every device. Additionally, we integrate E-safety education into subjects such as PSHEE and computing and promote awareness during E-safety week.

Key topics include:

• Practical steps and strategies to prevent and address cyberbullying. 
• Understanding risks and helping parents towards safe and responsible internet use. 

At all of our workshops, we dedicate time for Q&A to address any concerns and provide support at home. We also welcome suggestions for future workshops that parents would like to see at school. Please share your ideas during our termly Coffee Mornings.
