Welcome to Secondary
Welcome to Key Stage 4

During Key Stage 4, students focus on specializing in subjects they are interested in and work towards their GCSE qualifications. They select specific subjects to study in greater depth, with an emphasis on preparing for assessments and examinations. The curriculum still includes core subjects like English, mathematics, and mcience, but with more advanced content. Additionally, students choose optional subjects based on their interests and future aspirations, which can include practical and vocational courses.

We organize our annual Y11 Futures Event in February, where students can explore A-level options (Advanced Levels qualifications) and the various pathways these choices can lead to post-secondary education. The British International School of Tenerife, prepares students for their chosen paths, whether that involves studying abroad or taking the Spanish Bachillerato subjects in preparation for the EBAU (Evaluación del Bachillerato para Acceder a la Universidad) for those wishing to attend Spanish universities.

This stage aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and qualifications needed for their next steps, whether that involves further education, apprenticeships, or entering the workforce.
