Primary Education at the British International School of Tenerife caters to children aged 5 to 11, divided into Phase 2 (Years 1, 2, and 3) and Phase 3 (Years 4, 5, and 6).
It emphasizes the development of core literacy and numeracy skills, while also fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. In Years 1 to 3, phonics plays a crucial role as the foundation for reading and writing, helping students develop essential language skills. Whereas in Years 4 to 6, the focus shifts towards enhancing comprehension, writing skills, and more complex mathematical concepts.
