The British International School of Tenerife has been awarded funding from the European Union through the Erasmus+ program, which offers opportunities for schools and other educational organizations to engage in learning mobility activities across Europe.

We have collaborated with three UK schools on a project called “Who Do We Think We Are? A Language and Culture Heritage Project.” This initiative is the result of the combined efforts of three UK partner schools: Bromet Primary School (the project coordinator), Holywell Primary School, and ParkGate Primary School, all located in the Watford area.

In 2019, some of our teachers participated in training and good practice exchanges with these schools. They then visited us in Tenerife and conducted observations focusing on Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHEE). Additionally, students from these Watford schools visited Tenerife for a week, providing a rich cultural exchange experience.

This project has been instrumental in fostering a deeper understanding of language and cultural heritage among students and staff. It has also strengthened the bonds between our schools, promoting a sense of unity and collaboration. The Erasmus+ funding has enabled us to enhance our educational practices, share innovative teaching methods, and create lasting partnerships that benefit our entire school community.

We look forward to continuing our participation in Erasmus+ projects and exploring new opportunities for international collaboration and learning.
