Welcome to Playgroup
Our playgroup class offers lots of fun and exciting activities which promote children’s learning and development in a warm, caring environment. Our children participate in a range of sensory and messy play activities.
We communicate to the children in English throughout the day, in our daily routines, games, stories and songs. The children begin to understand English and quickly pick up new words, enjoy rhymes and are keen to learn.
OUTSIDE LEARNING – Outdoor environments offer children freedom to explore and use their senses.
Our playgroup children have access to their own outside area, which is an extension of the classroom and enables children to learn in different ways. We feel that being outdoors has a positive impact on all aspects of children’s development. In particular, this gives them the opportunity to develop gross motor skills and sensory exploration.
TOILET TRAINING
Most children will be ready to move out of nappies between the ages of two and three. To ensure a relaxed transition in Playgroup, we work closely with the parents to help children make the transition from being in nappies to going to the toilet.
SLEEPING
The youngest children in our Early Years unit are offered a calm environment enabling them to sleep daily.
